It's not a secret anymore that Apple has recently introduced new products at the annual Worldwide Developer Conference. The techs and I are always so excited to see what Apple will unveil next. This time it's a preview of Leopard, which is their next operating system (10.5), along with a brand new xServe that runs on Intel, and a big daddy Mac... The MacPro.

The preview of Leopard has me screaming like a little girl for excitement. Some really cool features that should be showing up are:

  • Mail with Notes and other goodies, like stationeries.
  • iChat with Photo booth effects, and observing and controling peoples computer with in the iChat application
  • Spaces - also known as Virtual Desktops in the Joonix world
  • Dashboard - Web Clips which allow you to create a Widget from a website
  • Time Machine - By far this is one of the nicest features because it allows you to go back in time!

Along with Leopard Apple also introduced a brand new line of Macs. This completes Apple's transition to Intel Processors. The brand new xServe has been completely redone, so hopefully the overheating problems with the old models are no longer an issue. The specs for the xServe are as follows: Quad-core 64-bit Intel processor, running at up to 3GHZ. Expandable up to 32GB of memory. Up to 2.25TB of storage in a three-module SATA configuration. And two PCI Express sluts.

The brand new MacPro, also known as the big daddy, has so much power for the common man. Running at up to 3GHZ with Dual-Core Xeon processors one can only wonder how fast Safari opens. Although it's the same case, they've done away with a lot of useless G5 cooling space, which allows room for other goodies such as four hard drives again! Optical digital audio input and output is sure to be a plus with those fancy speakers. And last but not least up to four PCI Express video cards possible!

With that said it's exciting to think about what Apple has done with their Mac product over the last couple of years. Mac OS X, iPod, and the shocking conversion to the dark side (Intel processor).

Transformers

Based on the popular toys that transform from machines into giant robots, this live-action movie from Pearl Harbor director Michael Bay finds the planet Cybertron inhabitants engaging in a secret war for control of Earth's natural resources, which they desperately need for fuel. Able to disguise themselves as cars, airplanes, boats and more, the transformers prove a tough enemy in this film starring Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel and Jon Voight.
